Quiz, Chips and Mushy Peas for YMCA Lincolnshire

Shooting Star is inviting the public to put their general knowledge to the test over a delicious fish and chip supper – while raising money for charity!

In aid of its charity of the year –YMCA Lincolnshire – Shooting Star will host a quiz night with a difference at The Elite Fish and Chip Company restaurant on Tritton Road in Lincoln on Monday 30th November from 7pm.

Following the success of last year’s Quiz, Chips and Mushy Peas, where Shooting Star raised £743 for the Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation, the Lincoln-based agency hopes to raise even more money for YMCA Lincolnshire.

Director Kate Strawson said: “Every year we choose a charity and work for them for free to help raise their profile. We also raise money for them and one of the ways we do this is by organising an annual quiz night.

“We’re delighted to be supporting YMCA Lincolnshire in 2015 and hope that this event will prove to be just as popular as in previous years. In fact we were bursting at the seams last year so we’ve decided to hold it at a bigger venue!”

Malcolm Barham, Chief Executive of YMCA Lincolnshire, added: “Thanks to Shooting Star, we have been given a platform through which to promote the work of YMCA Lincolnshire and The Nomad Trust.

“A lot of people don’t realise that we offer such a wide range of services.  As well as working with young people on a daily basis we manage 150 units of accommodation and run a gym and two childcare facilities! We are very grateful that Shooting Star has been able to help raise awareness of this.”

The event is open to teams of four and tickets cost £15 per head which includes a fish and chip supper with mushy peas and bread and butter.

There will also be a licensed bar and a raffle to help raise even more money. To enter a team or donate a raffle prize email hello@weareshootingstar.co.uk or call 01522 528540.
