Shooting Star to Raise Profile of Unpaid Family Carers
Public relations and marketing agency Shooting Star has announced that Lincolnshire Carers & Young Carers Partnership will be its charity of the year for 2016.
Each year Shooting Star, which has offices in Lincoln and Bristol, provides free advice and expertise to a different local charity or not-for-profit organisation which would not otherwise be able to afford ongoing PR support.
The Lincolnshire Carers & Young Carers Partnership (LCYCP), based in Lincoln, signposts people of all ages who provide unpaid care to essential information and support while also representing the voice of carers at a strategic level within the County.
Vicky Thomson, Chief Executive Officer at Lincolnshire Carers and Young Carers Partnership, said: “This is an excellent opportunity to work with Shooting Star to increase the profile of unpaid family carers and raise awareness of the services available to support them in their caring role.”
Jonny Hall, Digital and PR Account Manager at Shooting Star, said: “It was difficult again this year to select the most deserving charity to benefit from our help. While others were impressive in their scope, we felt that carers – and particularly young carers – in the county are a group that we wish to support.
“The work that LCYCP engages in is vital for the untold number of people in the county who care for others, and if we can help spread their message that would be great.”
