Accountants Preparing For a Busy Cereals 2017

Duncan & Toplis will be serving up more than just beer and their famous fillet steak BBQ at this year’s Cereals event on 14th and 15th June.

In a first for the East Midlands firm, they will be giving visitors an insight into the latest challenges and issues facing the farming industry with free demonstrations and seminars at the arable industry’s largest technical event.

Duncan & Toplis will be giving free seminars on Making Tax Digital (MTD) at 3pm on both days, led by Associate Directors Matt Herd and Alistair Main. The short seminars will paint a picture of how the modernisation process that HM Revenue & Customs has in store for tax management in the next few years will affect businesses and what they can do to prepare.

Throughout the event there will also be free demonstrations of Xero online accounting software. Xero allows farmers and their advisers to work together from the same set of online, real-time data. Decisions can be made more quickly on information that is up to date instead of waiting until the year end.

In addition to finding out about MTD and online accounting, farmers, agronomists and industry professionals visiting Cereals can also expect to be served up a new brew, ‘Profit & Hops’, which is the result of a collaboration between Duncan & Toplis and Grantham’s Oldershaw Brewery.

Managing Director at Duncan & Toplis, Adrian Reynolds, said: “We’re looking forward to returning to Boothby Graffoe for this year’s Cereals event. Being on home turf always make for a busy stand and we are looking forward to welcoming friends old and new.

“We thought we would try out a couple of new ideas on our stand this time and I hope that farmers will take advantage of the demonstrations and seminars on offer from our team.

“We will of course be firing up the BBQ as usual and I have no doubt that the fillet steak sandwiches and the new beer from Oldershaw’s will be great crowd pleasers!”

Duncan & Toplis will be exhibiting at Cereals on Stand 809 with their sister company Castlegate Financial Management.

Anyone wishing to register their interest in the seminars or a Xero demonstration should contact Grace Faulkner on 01522 507000 or by emailing grace.faulkner@duntop.co.uk.
