Truelove Property & Construction is a well-established family business based in Lincoln which builds and markets residential property. The company has a farming subsidiary and a property rental arm (Truelove Property Lettings) based in Nottingham but wanted to boost its reputation in the residential property market.

In 2017, the firm approached Shooting Star to raise its profile with support from Sophie Barrett, who had recently been appointed to lead on sales, marketing, advertising and customer relations. Even though the company was established in 1968 it had a relatively low profile. On behalf of directors Paul and Barrie Truelove, Sophie had asked for help with building awareness of the business locally and regionally.

To fulfill the objectives, we conducted thorough research to build new contacts to ensure positive and constructive relationships with target media.

We also forged a close working relationship with Truelove’s in-house marketing assistant to co-ordinate PR, marketing and social media activity. We issued regular news releases to highlight the company’s achievements, including award wins, and pitched the directors to comment on topical industry news such as the Budget which led to Barrie Truelove being interviewed on Channel 5 News. We also commissioned photography, promoted new housing developments and conducted a campaign to celebrate the firm’s 50^th anniversary celebrations.
