Our Health Heroes

Overview

Our Health Heroes is an awards ceremony sponsored by NHS Health Education England organised in 2016 to celebrate the hard work of the healthcare professionals across eight national award categories.

Shooting Star have been supporting the event launch and each category campaign through the effective use of PR, social media and event management since 2018.

Objectives

Shooting Star was approached to support the launch of the Our Heath Heroes campaign, for the second year running, in 2019. Throughout the duration of the campaign, Shooting Star provided strategic counsel and identified key opportunities for Skills for Health representatives.

Shooting Star developed relationships with key trade, regional and national journalists, producing press releases that led to coverage in both offline and online media channels.

Approach

Working closely with Skills for Health marketing managers, Shooting Star focused on the key objectives and offered additional support to the in-house marketing team by building relationships with sponsors of the event and the nominees on their behalf while also preparing the individuals for the public voting process and answering questions ahead of the ceremony.

Alongside PR and some marketing and social media support, Shooting Star worked closely with the event photographer and acted as the interviewer for videographer to capture the necessary imagery and content.

The 2019 Our Health Heroes Awards was our 4th consecutive year of running the event and the second year that Shooting Star have worked closely with us on delivering the PR for this project.

Shooting Star were once again very enthusiastic from the offset and extremely keen to help us get to the heart of what the Awards set out to achieve, going above and beyond to form close relationships with organisations and nominees to get the most out of the coverage for all involved.

The team’s knowledge and understanding of the campaign content could not have been better, which allowed us to very much work as one team towards the same objectives right from the beginning. On the day of the awards ceremony the team excelled at managing the VIPs, finalists and winners, not only ensuring that the required media relations were carried out but offering the individuals involved support, guidance and feel good factor, helping to make it a very special day for them – truly above and beyond what was expected of their role.
