Lincoln’s Newest Care Home Nears Completion

Finishing touches are being made to Lincoln’s newest care home 13 months after construction work began.

Cloverleaf Care Home – a new 72-bed facility on Long Leys Road – is now in its final stage of development after Tanglewood Care Homes took possession of the building.

LNT Construction has now handed over the keys to Tanglewood Care Homes, which is working with contractors to decorate and furnish the home to exacting standards before the doors open to residents in late March.

Debra Owen, Cloverleaf’s Home Manager and a registered nurse for over 30 years, was presented with the keys by the site’s manager Peter Gannon.

“We can’t describe how excited we are to have now reached this point,” said Debra.

“We are pleased that the construction of the home has been completed promptly, which means we are now in the final stages of preparation for our first residents later this month.

“Now the structure of the building is finished we are spending a lot of time and effort to ensure the interior of the home is furnished to Tanglewood’s usual high standard. Our senior leadership team is now in place too, so we’re even closer to opening our doors in this fabulous city.”

The state-of-the-art home, which will provide its residents with all levels of care – including residential, nursing and dementia care – was given the go-ahead by City of Lincoln Council in November 2017.

Inside Cloverleaf will be a tavern, multiple social areas, two garden lounges, a hair salon and a Bailgate-themed area to replicate the bustle and history of Lincoln’s famous shopping street.

Cloverleaf was given its name by Eagle resident Norman Kent after Tanglewood ran a public naming competition last year. He chose the name because the word ‘leys’ means a piece of land set aside for grass or clover, and clover still grows on West Common near the new home.
