Pupils & Parents Invited to Banovallum’s Virtual Opening Evening

Banovallum School in Horncastle is inviting prospective pupils and their parents to find out what the school has to offer during a virtual open evening.

A video featuring interviews with teachers and students will be premiered on the school’s website at 6pm on Thursday 8th October.

The event is designed to give youngsters and their families a real insight into what the school has to offer and what life there as a student is like. Anyone who is unable to attend on the night will still be able to watch the video afterwards.

Following the premiere other videos and information will be made available on the website including a welcome by Headteacher Grant Edgar and a Q&A session with the Senior Leadership Team. Detailed subject information is also available in the Curriculum section of the website.

Mr Edgar explained: “Unfortunately owing to coronavirus we’re unable to hold our usual open evening and invite people into the school so this is the next best thing.

“Starting secondary school is a huge event in a young person’s life so we want to give them and their families as much information as possible and we hope that at the end of the event they will feel inspired and excited by what they see.

“Banovallum School has so much to offer and if they come here they will have an incredible experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. We hope the video will showcase the excellent facilities and the dedicated and hardworking staff and students who rightly take a great deal of pride in their school.

“We look forward to welcoming them virtually to the school during the online opening evening. And of course, should parents and their children wish to see the school in person, they can still arrange an individual tour with a senior member of staff. All they need to do is contact the school to arrange the visit.”
