Grimsby-based business recovery and insolvency specialist Forbes Burton recently delivered advice to a select group of the town’s businesses on insolvency, cash flow and finance options at an exclusive workshop seminar. 

This was a first for the company, as well as the first event of its kind at the E-Factor Business in Grimsby’s Enterprise Village on Prince Albert Gardens. Managing Director Rick Smith and Senior Client Manager Ben Westoby gave a presentation that attempted to demystify some of the processes available to companies when they find themselves insolvent.

Managing Director and owner at Forbes Burton, Rick Smith, said: “This was a fantastic first session for us at the E-Factor. We had an engaging and switched-on group of businesses attend and we hope to build on that for the next events.

“We delivered a rather wide-ranging session this time, focusing on the many options available to businesses when they find themselves struggling.

“Rather than sticking one’s head in the sand, the reaction to insolvency and financial hardship from a business perspective is to always seek help as soon as possible. In the same way you might deal with your personal health, the earlier you seek advice and guidance, the better the chance of dealing with problems effectively.”

Ben added: “We never want to think about things going wrong, but all too often they do. This is why we’re urging business owners seeking advice on ways to improve their business to come and see us, before problems arise.”

The company now has its sights set on the capital, with several sessions being booked in the City of London, delivering similar messages to directors of large businesses later this year.
