LACE Housing Needs You!

Would you like to volunteer some of your time in 2019? Then LACE Housing wants to hear from you.

The Lincolnshire-based charitable organisation, which provides housing and support services to older and vulnerable people, needs more volunteers to organise and help out at events and activities for its residents at Brick Kiln Place in Grantham and Worth Court in Bourne.

While there are support staff based at both schemes seven days a week, LACE Housing still relies on volunteers to ensure that residents can enjoy social activities on a regular basis to help mitigate loneliness.

“We host regular coffee mornings and various entertainment so that our residents can maintain their independence and continue to lead an active social life,” explains Tracey Warren, Support Team Leader at Brick Kiln Place and Worth Court.

“However, this isn’t possible without the support of volunteers. We are extremely grateful for the dedicated team we currently have but are appealing to the local community to boost our numbers.

“Perhaps you’re making a new year’s resolution to give something back to your community, or maybe you’ve had a change of circumstances and are looking for opportunities to fill your time.

“Whatever your motivation, if you enjoy organising events and have some spare time then we would love to hear from you.”

Those who volunteer must be able to get themselves to either of the schemes, on Caunt Road in Grantham or Willoughby Road in Bourne.

If you’re interested in volunteering for LACE Housing, you can find out exactly what it entails by dropping in on one of the coffee mornings taking place from 10.30am on Tuesday 18th December and Tuesday 8th January at Brick Kiln Place, or on Wednesday 19th December and Wednesday 2nd January at Worth Court.

Or for more information and to register your interest, contact Tracey Warren by calling 01476 516358 or emailing twarren@lacehousing.org.
