Creating marketing strategies that work

I am the Senior Marketing Manager at Shooting Star, I work on our business development and lead the marketing team in assisting clients with their marketing strategies. From strategy and planning to social media and digital marketing, our team work closely with the account managers to ensure businesses have an integrated PR, marketing and digital approach to help them to grow.

My Skills & Experience

I am experienced in mapping out a marketing strategy and plan that incorporates various marketing tactics; from website management and e-marketing to branding, creating marketing materials and event management.

I have had the benefit of working freelance, in-house and agency side in various marketing and public relations positions. Most notably, I worked for consumer-goods giant Unilever coordinating its internal brand launches and for a glamping provider at music festivals throughout the UK and Ireland – here I managed the re-branding of the company but also all written and visual communications, social media and competitions as well as onsite event management, business development, logistics, operations, media relations, sales and financials. I also worked for a designer tent company where I launched a new website, developed the branding, organised events and secured high-profile brand collaborations.

I first started working at Shooting Star as a Senior Account Manager, looking after client accounts day-to-day, but I am now the Senior Marketing Manager. I still get to work with our lovely clients but I also develop our own in-house marketing strategy and business development. I absolutely love what I do and love the Shooting Star family. We have created a wonderful, supportive working culture and every day is different – we work hard and we play hard, and I love it!

My Work

I have worked on various accounts including eco-friendly Oceans Toilet Tissue – we refreshed the marketing strategy to focus on improving digital presence; developing the website, managing social media, launching a new product and running digital ads. Through our efforts in the first two months Oceans saw a 30% increase in its monthly sales. I also contributed to our award-winning work with East Lindsey District Council promoting the Lincolnshire Wolds as a tourist destination by securing high-profile press visits to the area in exchange for coverage and also managed the strategy to raise the profile of OrderWise; securing numerous award wins and press coverage throughout our contract.
