Something for Everyone at Southside in April
The busy April schedule at Southside, formerly St Katherine’s Church and the Priory Centre in Lincoln, includes folk, jazz and blues music as well as a contemporary dance performance.
Since it opened last autumn, Southside has been dedicated to supporting local artists by hosting monthly events such as Commuter Jazz, a Folk Night and the Snug Sessions, which showcase different artists each time. All three of these events feature on the venue’s April event schedule.
Emily Nichol, Operations Director at Southside, said: “We are so lucky to be able to showcase talented local artists. It’s a pleasure for us to host them at the venue and it’s great that so many people enjoy attending these events.
“In April we will be continuing our popular monthly events, but we are also excited to be hosting some new things too.”
On Wednesday 19th April Southside will stage Slumpesqué: Ferality in Bloom, a solo contemporary dance piece by Sophie Fleming, a performance artist based in Lincoln. The show will be an immersive evening of movement, sound and projection in the venue’s Victorian grade II former church hall.
The popularity of the venue is also attracting artists from across the country, with Bristol-based folk band Tarren performing there on Friday 14th April as part of their UK tour.
