Sharpen Your Creative Skills with Weekly Classes Hosted by Southside

Popular Lincoln venue Southside has announced its May and June events line-up, which includes a variety of new weekly classes.

Southside, formerly St Katherine’s Church and the Priory Centre in Lincoln, opened last autumn and has become a hub for music, art and culture thanks to its variety of events.

Now Southside has announced new weekly classes that everyone is welcome to attend regardless of ability. A 60-minute Mind and Body Yoga class will be taking place every Monday, on Tuesdays there will be an Irish Dancing Class taught by award-winning Irish dancer Tom Conroy, and a Rock Choir class will take place every Wednesday morning.

The second Life Drawing session hosted by Tom Humby will be taking place on Tuesday 30th May. In this class, you can try your hand at life drawing where a model will be present. Beginner drawing materials will be provided.

Emily Nichol, Operations Director at Southside, said: “We’re really excited to be able to offer these new weekly classes. With the return of our Life Drawing class too, we feel that there really is something for everyone, whether that be music, art or dance.

“Everyone is welcome to attend these classes regardless of ability, so whether you’re wanting to try something new or improve on your skills we encourage you to come along.”

Southside continues to be a popular venue for music, with Serena Smith performing on Saturday 20th May, The Rills performing on Saturday 3rd June, and Kings & Bears performing on Saturday 24th June.

Some of the venue’s most popular monthly events are also continuing in May and June, including Commuter Jazz and Southside’s Jam Night.

The unique Naughty Night Market is making a comeback on Sunday 4th June. The alternative craft market, which first took place in March, is a great place to browse and shop from local sellers that specialise in fun and risqué crafts. You can expect a mix of new and returning stalls.
