We’re Looking for the Next Shooting Star Charity of the Year!

Every year, the Shooting Star team adopts a charity or not-for-profit organisation that needs a little help raising its profile and creating awareness.

Our chosen charity gets a year’s free PR and marketing support from us, and we also try to raise a bit of cash through fundraising events such as our famous annual Chippy Quiz!

Throughout 2025 we’ve been working with Thistles Market Garden near Boston, and as the year draws to a close we’re on the lookout for our next Charity of the Year for 2026.

If you run or work for a fantastic charity, or you’ve come across an organisation that really deserves a little extra help free of charge, why not get in touch?

Since 2009 we’ve supported a range of different charities, from brain injury and baby loss to cancer research and loneliness. Over the years we’ve become firm friends with a host of wonderful charities, and we’ve achieved some amazing results, including a feature in New York Times magazine which led to a donation from 007 star Daniel Craig!

“Ideally the charity we choose will be local to Lincolnshire or the East Midlands, as we really want to give something back to the community we live and work in,” said Kate Strawson, a Director of Shooting Star.

“And we love supporting smaller charities which don’t have an in-house marketing team or big budgets for campaigns. It’s all about making a difference to a charity or good cause that really needs our help.”

Here’s what some of our past charities have to say about working with us:

“We would like to give a huge thank you to Shooting Star for choosing Thistles Market Garden as your Charity of the Year. Your support has been nothing short of fantastic.

“From helping us develop our new website, designing our banner, logo and full rebrand, to updating our ID badges, you’ve made such a positive difference to how we present ourselves. Your hands-on help at our 0pen day, the Boston Town FC collection, and of course rounding the year off with the brilliant Chippy Quiz fundraiser, has meant so much to everyone here.

“You’ve gone above and beyond for us in every way, and we are incredibly grateful. Thank you for being such an amazing partner and for all the enthusiasm, time and kindness you’ve shown throughout the year.”

Michael Burgess, Thistles Market Garden

“We were honestly so pleased to receive this support from Shooting Star to raise the youth voice in Lincoln and work towards a better, more inclusive future. We are extremely grateful to them for adopting The Network as its Charity of Year in 2024.”

Gabby Wright, The Network Lincoln Project Co-ordinator

“We cannot thank the Shooting Star team enough for their support.”

Ann-Marie Smith, Headway Lincolnshire

“A huge thank you to everyone at Shooting Star for being incredible with HUG. There is no way we’d have managed it alone through the most testing times all round. What a fantastic team!”

Amy Everatt, Help Us Grieve

“We have felt so privileged to have been Shooting Star’s Charity of the Year. Their flexibility, support and limitless energy have been priceless to the work of our charity.”

Vicky Thomson, Every-One
