Hundreds Raised at Charity Chippy Quiz

After eight nail-biting quiz rounds, a delicious fish and chip meal and a charity raffle boasting some fantastic prizes, it’s fair to say our annual charity chippy quiz was a resounding success!

On Monday, (3rd November) 60 people came to our Quiz, Chips and Mushy Peas night in aid of our charity of the year – The Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation.

We raised £743 for the charity thanks to the support of Lesley, Des and the team at Burton Road Chippy who hosted the event and Tim Downing from Pygott and Crone who donated a selection of fine wines for the winning team.

Almost £300 was raised from the raffle so a big thanks goes to the businesses who donated a prize: Bishop Grosseteste University, Ringrose Law, Sills and Betteridge, Elite Meats, Kodak Express, The Lincolnite, PinPoint Media, Frank Connell & Joe Cooke, Red Hair and Beauty, La Bottega Delitalia, the Horse and Groom, Burton Road Chippy and Lincoln Golf Club.

Ethan Maull was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in December 2012 and sadly passed away on 5th May 2014 aged just 10. Passionate about helping others, Ethan set up the foundation in the hope of raising enough money to buy a property where families can stay while their sick children undergo hospital treatment.

We’re so thrilled to have raised this much money in Ethan’s memory and to help fund Ethan’s house. Look out for our chippy quiz around the same time next year!
