Shooting Star Recognised Among Top UK Agencies

It was a successful night for Shooting Star at the South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards in Bristol on Friday (17th November).

We were delighted to win gold in the Arts, Culture or Sport category for our ‘From Sidecars to Superstars’ campaign!

We’ve also been shortlisted in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region and we’ll find out if we can do the double when we attend the ceremony in Leeds on Friday 30th November.

In 2016 we were appointed to raise the profile of reigning British F1 sidecar champions Ricky Stevens and Ryan Charlwood, more commonly known as Ricky and Ryan.

Sidecar racing is a support class in the British Superbike (BSB) Championship, but the sport does not enjoy the same prominence as the other classes.

Between 1st March and 30th November 2016 we achieved 72 print/online articles including a six-page feature in Fast Bikes magazine and three broadcast interviews including a 4.5-minute piece on BBC Breakfast, when Mike Bushell took a spin in the sidecar.

During that time the team’s combined Twitter and Facebook following increased from 686 to 7,648 and we increased reach from 20 times the pair’s following to more than 40 times. Similarly, the average engagement rate rose from 7.1% of the following to 10.9%.

As in Bristol, we are up against some tough competition in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region, but hopefully we can come out on top once again, as it would be a testament to the commitment and hard work of those who delivered the campaign.

Please keep everything crossed for us!
