Shooting Star Awarded Heritage Lincolnshire Contract

Leading PR, marketing and digital agency Shooting Star has won a contract with Heritage Lincolnshire to promote the restoration of the Grade II listed Old King’s Head in Kirton near Boston.

The former coaching inn will be renovated and re-opened as a luxury B&B and café with a micro-brewery and a number of independent boutique shops.

Heritage Lincolnshire, which aims to ensure that the special character and significance of Lincolnshire’s heritage is conserved, purchased the building in 2016.

Financed by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project is expected to be completed by spring 2020.

Historically a coaching inn dating back to 1599, The Old King’s Head fell into a critical condition owing to a lack of repairs and maintenance over the last 25 years.

Earlier this year a comprehensive programme of conservation repairs began to prevent the loss of this nationally significant building.

Heritage Lincolnshire hopes that the restoration will bring the local community together by developing a range of new opportunities and activities within the building for people to engage with.
