Bums on Bikes Raise Money for Charity

Our Bums on Bikes charity cycle ride had to be postponed from the previous weekend out of respect for the Queen, but we were determined to keep our promise and cycle from our offices to the HQ of our Charity of the Year, Headway Lincolnshire.

Directors Kate Strawson and Jez Ashberry and Senior Account Executive Molly Hare were up bright and early on Saturday morning to pump up the tyres, check the brakes and set off along the Water Rail Way, a cycle path that follows the old railway line and the river Witham from Lincoln to Boston.

As it turned out, the weather was glorious and the backwind certainly helped as the intrepid trio cycled across the county, assisted by Amy Harrison in the Shooting Star support vehicle.

The route takes cyclists along the Witham past Fiskerton, Bardney, Woodhall Spa and Tattershall before arriving in Boston – and after six hours in the saddle (including stops) the magnificent Boston Stump was certainly a welcome sight for our cyclists!

Our thanks go to all our generous sponsors who donated to this good cause; last time we looked the total stood at £695, and there’s still time to donate by visiting our Just Giving page.

All the money we raise will go to Headway Lincolnshire, an organisation which supports survivors and their families across the county living with a brain injury following a physical assault, a stroke, epilepsy or a life-changing car or sporting accident for example.

The charity also offers free counselling for carers including a support group and social gatherings which deliver the coping skills and strategies that they need to sustain a healthy life while continuing to provide care for their loved one.

Our next fund raiser will be in November when the famous Chippy Quiz returns after an absence of two years. Keep your eye on the blog for more updates!
