Shooting Star PR at the Lincolnshire Charity Expo 2013

On Friday morning Jez and Cesca headed over to The Showroom in Lincoln and set up shop for the first ever Lincolnshire Charity Expo.

The event was a chance for representatives from local, regional and national charities to network with private sector businesses and gain invaluable tips on how to grow, market and finance their organisations.

There was also a range of expert seminars, at which our director Jez Ashberry was the first speaker. Using Jerry Green Dog Rescue as a case study, Jez talked to the delegates about why PR is so important to a charity and how it’s helped our clients to grow their businesses and gave some top tips on how to get a campaign started.

Other speakers included Mike Stokes from The Business Club, Paula Finch from NB Marketing, Ben Braber from BBMC, Shaun Cole from Idea fuel and Paul Adams from Admar.

When they weren’t learning top tips in the seminars, delegates were free to wander the various exhibitor stands and do a little networking. We met some fantastic people from some amazing charities and our old fashioned sweetshop theme went down a storm, thanks to Richard at Goodies of Lincoln who provided us with a few jars of sweet traditional treats.
