Yesterday marked the beginning of our Rising Star Internship. Our successful candidate is Chris Coleshaw who recently graduated from Middlesex University with a BMus(Hons) degree in Popular Music. For the next three months he will be working hard learning all about the world of PR. Here’s Chris’s first blog announcing our partnership with digital conference LincUpLive.

Everyone knows that keeping up to date with technology can be a laborious job. With all manner of gadgets and gizmos appearing day by day it’s important that you know which technologies could offer a critical edge to you and your business.

October 24th sees the return of LincUpLive, a popular digital business conference to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln and this year we are proud to announce we will be sponsoring the event.

This year’s conference is entitled ‘Tomorrow’s Business: Innovation Growth Regeneration’ and will provide delegates with tips and advice on how to keep up with, and embrace, new technologies and business practices.

One of this years most hotly anticipated speakers is Redg Snodgrass, founder of Stained Glass, a wearable-technology incubator based in the infamous Silicon Valley, US who recently launched the first ever app directory specifically for users of Google Glass

Other influential speakers include Mark Middleborough, Director of Engineering at Siemens, and Wayne Gibbins, an Associate at Notion Capital.

Dr David Rae, Director of Enterprise and Innovation at the University of Lincoln, will be hosting breakout sessions on entrepreneurship. Other breakout session subjects will include start-ups, media, marketing and finance.

The conference, sponsored by Lincolnshire County Council and the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, is expected to attract around 200 delegates and is bound to be a fun, educational and informative day away from the office.

The aim of LincUpLive 2013 is to include all aspects of business futures, making it relevant toall delegates. The areas covered will include HR, finance, marketing, engineering, technology and more.

The day will be split into speaker presentations, breakout sessions and networking, and those attending will be able to tailor their experiences to personal requirements by choosing which sessions to attend, dependent on their specific business interests.

Food and refreshments will be served throughout the day and there will be a drinks party afterwards in the hotel’s Electric Bar and Restaurant.

A full list of speakers and information on early bird tickets is available at www.lincuplive2013.eventbrite.co.uk.

We look forward to seeing you there! CC
