Glimpsing the Future of Business at LincUpLive

LincupliveGoogle Glass demonstrations and global megatrends were among the highlights at the fourth LincUpLive conference staged in Lincoln yesterday.

We’ve been working on the event as LincUpLive’s PR partner so we were delighted with the interest the conference created.

A small army of PR students from the University of Lincoln helped to create a buzz about the event on social media, and it certainly worked – at one point yesterday the hashtag #LUL360 trended at number one in the UK on Twitter.

We were also there on behalf of our client onlincolnshire helping to wire up the event and use it to showcase the importance of high-speed broadband internet.

LincUpLive attracted record numbers of delegates and provided them with tips and advice on how to keep up with and embrace new technologies and business practices.

Among the keynote speakers were wearable technology entrepreneur Redg Snodgrass, who allowed delegates to try out a Google Glass device, and Wayne Gibbins, an associate at funding company Notion Capital who discussed predicting and exploiting megatrends.

Richard Duxbury, publisher of the Lincolnshire Echo, told the audience how Lincolnshire Media was reinventing itself to adapt to new technology, while DP Marketing gave useful advice on search engine optimisation (SEO).

All in all it was a fabulous day and the latest in a series of LincUpLive events which are really putting Lincoln on the map. JA
