Everyone’s Talking About BGU!

BGU national coverage titles

Our client Bishop Grosseteste University has had an amazing couple of months in the media, racking up seven positive articles in the national press since the beginning of the year.

2014 began with a story in The Guardian comparing on-campus accommodation prices for students in which BGU got an honourable mention as one of a handful of universities which had lowered prices for students.

In January the Times Education Supplement featured tips from BGU graduate Helen Moore on how to plan for your first year as a newly qualified teacher, and the following day The Guardian ran a quiz which included the question, ‘Where is Bishop Grosseteste University?’

February was a similarly busy month for BGU coverage in the national media: Times Higher journalist Paul Jump published a very positive profile of the university following his visit to the campus in January, and two days later the Daily Telegraph included tips from BGU Marketing Manager Ben Rook on how students should research which universities to apply for.

At the end of February The Times quoted BGU drama academic Viv Kerridge in its Graduate Careers supplement talking about how the university’s Drama in the Community degree prepares students for the world of work.

And this weekend the university was in the Sunday Telegraph as the alma mater of GB Winter Paralympic double medallist Jade Etherington. Jade, who graduated from BGU in 2012, has won a silver and a bronze in the games so far.

Bishop Grosseteste University is certainly gaining a growing reputation – and long may it continue! JA
