Chippy Quiz Raises Over £1,800 for Thistles Market Garden

We’re thrilled to share that our 11th annual Chippy Quiz at The Elite Fish & Chip Company on Tritton Road, Lincoln has raised a fantastic £1,821.40 for Thistles Market Garden, our Charity of the Year for 2025.

More than 70 friends, clients and business contacts joined us for a lively night of brain-teasing trivia, brilliant company and (of course) top-notch fish and chips – all in aid of a wonderful local cause.

As well as the quiz itself, guests enjoyed a bumper raffle boasting 20 brilliant prizes, generously donated by local businesses.

This year it was The Cod Squad who took the crown, proudly taking home the Chippy Quiz trophy, crafted by our event sponsor Micrometric, and four festive hampers.

The hotly contested prize for Best Team Name went to Chips Don’t Lie, who were rewarded with four bottles of wine courtesy of The Elite.

Since we first launched the Shooting Star Chippy Quiz back in 2013 it’s grown into a much loved annual event, raising over £13,000 for local charities and giving us a great excuse to bring our friends, colleagues and clients together for a fun night out.

A huge thank you goes to Nigel and the amazing team at The Elite for hosting us once again, and to Micrometric for their generous sponsorship, which helped make this our most successful quiz yet.

About Thistles Market Garden

Thistles Market Garden is a Lincolnshire-based charity set on an acre of land in Sutterton near Boston.

Its mission is to enrich the lives of adults with disabilities by providing daily, purposeful horticultural activities that help individuals gain confidence, learn new skills, and feel part of a supportive community in a safe and happy environment.

The charity prides itself on embracing everyone’s individuality, helping each person work at their own pace and ability. Activities are designed to develop skills, boost personal growth and promote social inclusion and self-esteem.

We’re incredibly proud to have raised a total of £1,926.01 this year for Thistles Market Garden and helped promote their amazing work.
