IoD Annual Lunch
Featuring keynote speakers IoD Director General Jon Geldart and Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) of Lincolnshire Police Kerrin Wilson, the festive-themed lunch is set to be another must-attend event for business leaders from across the East Midlands.
Jon Geldart, who spent 30 years working in the professional services sector prior to becoming Director General in 2019, will be giving an insight into the institute’s latest campaigns and what it’s been doing over the past 12 months to address some of the key issues impacting businesses.
ACC Kerrin Wilson, who is one of only a few women to be trained as an international hostage negotiator and has worked on kidnaps in Syria and Algeria, will be sharing her 2021 highlights.
Chair of the Institute of Directors in Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland Michelle Allison said: “Our annual IoD lunch is extremely popular and usually attracts over 130 people from across the region so we’re hoping this year will be just as well attended.
“We’re delighted that the Director General is once again finding time in his busy calendar to join us and we look forward to hearing from him and Kerrin, who recently won the Chair’s Award for Excellence for the East Midlands at the IoD Midlands Director of the Year Awards 2021.
“Although last year’s virtual event was an overwhelming success, we can’t wait to get back to meeting in person.
“The economic climate is still hugely challenging for many so it’s even more of a reason to come together to celebrate everything that’s great about the business community in Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland and find out more about the work of the IoD.”
Every year guests are invited to make a donation towards a local charity. This year all donations will be going to St Barnabas Hospice which supports more than 10,500 people every year across Lincolnshire affected by a life-limiting or terminal illness.
Tickets cost £35 + VAT for members and £45 +VAT for non-members. Tables of eight are also available to book for £245 + VAT or £315 + VAT for a table of 10.
To secure your place please book via the IoD website.
Notes for editors:
- The Institute of Directors is a non-party political organisation, founded in 1903, with approximately 26,000 members. Membership includes directors from right across the business spectrum – from media to manufacturing, professional services to the public and voluntary sectors. Members include CEOs of large corporations as well as entrepreneurial directors of start-up companies.
- The IoD was granted a Royal Charter in 1906, instructing it to “represent the interests of members and of the business community to government and in the public arena, and to encourage and foster a climate favourable to entrepreneurial activity and wealth creation.”
- The Charter also tasks the Institute with promoting “for the public benefit high levels of skill, knowledge, professional competence and integrity on the part of directors”, which the IoD seeks to achieve through its training courses and publications on corporate governance.
