If you wanna be a record breaker…

We’re feeling pretty chipper after a grand night out!

As well as recent award winners, we’re now record breakers too (Roy Castle would be proud!). Having generated more than £700 last year, this year’s third annual Quiz, Chips & Mushy Peas evening in aid of YMCA Lincolnshire has broken the record in style, with the total standing at £1,153!

Held at the Elite Fish & Chip Company on Tritton Road, Lincoln, it was a head-scratching, pencil-chewing, fact-recalling evening for the teams that attended.

All money raised went to our charity of the year, YMCA Lincolnshire, who do great work in the county for young people as well running the Nomad Trust, which helps care for and support Lincoln’s homeless.

As if the night wasn’t fun enough already, every guest also enjoyed a fish supper, complete with those mouth-watering mushy peas!

We would like to say a special thanks to Adrian and Donna Tweedale and their staff at The Elite restaurant, who were not only fantastic hosts for the evening but also donated the food for free, which boosted the overall total considerably.

The winning team of brain-boxes were the Red Hot Chilli Quizzers, who won a case of wine generously donated by Tim Downing of Pygott & Crone.

A special mention must also go to the best-named team The Quizard of Oz, who walked away with a £25 voucher for the Elite – well done!
