Charity of the Year 2026: Supporting Rural Lincolnshire

Every year we receive an overwhelming number of applications from local charities to be our Charity of the Year, but the standout winner this year in our staff vote was Lincolnshire Rural Support Network.

LRSN is a Lincolnshire charity that has provided pastoral and practical help to Lincolnshire’s farming and rural families for over 20 years.

They’re trusted by the farming community because they focus on the people, which is what really matters, and why we want to help the team in supporting the farming and agricultural community.

They hear at first hand the unique challenges and pressure associated with farming, and the impact it can have on individuals’ lives, and as a charity they feel passionate about providing targeted support to Lincolnshire’s farmers.

It is always an extremely difficult decision when it comes to choosing our Charity of the Year, as we get so many deserving applications, but LRSN offers an invaluable service to the horticultural and agricultural community, and we would love to support them throughout 2026.

Throughout the year we will be working closely with the team at LRSN for free, supporting with their marketing and communications and setting some fundraising targets to hit by the end of the year.

Amy Thomas, Head of Charity at Lincolnshire Rural Support Network, said:

“We are extremely excited and very grateful to have been chosen as Charity of the Year, by the Shooting Star team. There has never been greater need for the support and services that LRSN offers, and whilst more people are reaching out for support than ever before, we know that there is much more to be done. We are looking forward to working with the Shooting Star team to raise awareness of our charity and the support we offer to the farming community.”

Lincolnshire Rural Support Network will be the 19th charity that we have supported since launching our Charity of the Year initiative in 2009. Organisations we’ve supported in the past include Thistles Market Garden, The Bearded Fishermen and Help Us Grieve (HUG).
