Shooting Star Celebrates 12 Years – Read About Our Journey to the Stars!
This week marks the 12th birthday of Shooting Star and the team is busy preparing for our birthday celebrations, which of course includes a huge cake!
On a serious note, tea and cake are not the only things that fuel our team (although it certainly helps on rainy days); the team is also driven by a passion for our business, a passion for the industry and a passion for our clients.
Twelve years ago, Shooting Star opened as a traditional public relations agency led by directors Kate Strawson and Jez Ashberry. The dynamic duo identified a gap in the market for dedicated PR services in Lincoln and worked together to establish Lincoln’s first PR agency in 2006.
Over the years Shooting Star has gone from strength to strength, expanding our services to include marketing and digital services and growing the team to nine team members, offering our clients a combined experience of over 80 years.
Our agency is proud to help develop new talent in the industry and has welcomed around 80 work experience students through the door. We also have our very own Rising Star internship, which launched in 2010. Successful Rising Star interns enjoy a full-time, three-month paid internship, supporting account managers with their clients and building experience. In total we have accepted eight Rising Star interns into the team, two of whom are now employed with us full-time following their internships.
Since starting, Shooting Star is delighted to have helped 222 clients and has won four gold and silver industry awards for our work; we have also been nominated for another award in this year’s CIPR ceremony in November. Outside of our day-to-day work with clients, the team enjoys helping others and supporting local charities. Every year we adopt a local charity for our Charity of the Year initiative and support them with free PR and marketing for 12 months. So far, we have helped ten charities under this scheme.
Shooting Star looks forward to more exciting years ahead. As new clients come on board every week and fresh talent joins our thriving team, we are proud of our journey to date and keen to see what lies ahead.
